Customers |
The following window is displayed when you select Customer from the File menu. It is also automatically displayed when you start 1stBase. |
Address |
Enter the appropriate invoice and delivery details for the customer. 1stBase uses the Invoice address for deliveries where no delivery address is entered. |
Machine |
A list of machines sold to this customer. You can customise the information shown from Maint, System, Global System Settings. TIP: For full details of the machine double-click the machine in question. This will open the Machine Registration window and locate the required machine for you. |
This button allows you to add or assign a machine to a customer. The Add Machine window is displayed so that you can enter the relevant details. |

Incept Date |
The date that the customer was first placed on 1stBase (i.e. the date you first dealt with them). |
Last Visit |
The date you last called on the customer. |
Last Transaction |
The date of the last order placed by the customer. This is automatically maintained by 1stBase as orders are placed on the system. |
Next Action |
The date of the next action required against this customer. Use the Notes window or a User Defined Field to log the actions to be taken. |
Contract Expiry |
The expiry date of any service contract that may be in place. |
Shows the Customer Notes window. If the window is open but hidden then it will be brought to the foreground. Tip: You can also press the F12 key to bring up the Customer Notes window. Once in the Notes window pressing the Esc key will make the Customer window active again. The behaviour of the Esc key can be modified from Maint, System, Global System settings. |

Marks/unmarks the customer 'Hot' status A Hot Customer is someone who needs your immediate attention or has a problem you need to address. Shows the Order History for the Customer. If the window is open but hidden then it will be brought to the foreground. |

Shows the Area Managers Diary window. If the window is open but hidden then it will be brought to the foreground. |

Extends the window to show the Revision History for this record. These details inform you which operator originally added and last revised the record. Additionally the system ID for the record is shown. This can be used by us (Shire Computer Services) to help diagnose problems that may occur. When the window is extended this button changes to |

Appointment |
This is where you set an appointment for the customer. You can decide whether to set a fixed time for the appointment or use the appointment notes to specify a generalised time (e.g. AM or PM). The appointment note can be entered as free text or you may prefer to pre-define text that can be selected from the drop down list. The Diary (or an extract from it) can be printed from Print, Area Managers Diary. You can add or edit Appointment Notes from Maint, LookUp Codes, Appointment Notes. Tip: You can open the Appointment Notes maintenance window by holding down Shift and clicking 'Notes'. Hold Ctrl and click 'Notes' to open the window and add a new note. Event Logging: 1stBase can add an event to the Customer Notes window when an appointment is made or changed. This can be set from Maint, System, Global System Settings. NOTE: Appointments are displayed in the Area Managers Diary window in Date/Time order, however when you enter an appointment note then this is displayed instead of the time. You may want to enter an approximate time for the appointment so that it is displayed in the correct position in the Diary window. |
Appointment Area Manager |
Once you have set an appointment date/time for the customer you will need to associate it to an Area Manager and set a reason for the call. Appointments MUST have a date/time, a reason and an Area Manager in order to be accepted as valid by 1stBase. You can add or edit Call Reasons from Maint, LookUp Codes, Call Reasons. Tip: You can open the Call Reasons maintenance window by holding down Shift and clicking 'Reason'. Hold Ctrl and click 'Reason' to open the window and add a new reason. You can add or edit Area Managers from Maint, Personnel, Area Managers. Tip: You can open the Area Managers maintenance window by holding down Shift and clicking 'A/Manager'. Hold Ctrl and click 'A/Manager' to open the window and add a new area manager. |
Team |
Select an appropriate entry from the list provided or 'Not Assigned' to set it to nothing. You can add or edit Teams from Maint, LookUp Codes, Teams. Tip: You can open the Teams maintenance window by holding down Shift and clicking 'Teams'. Hold Ctrl and click 'Teams' to open the window and add a new Team. |
Group |
Select an appropriate entry from the list provided or 'Not Assigned' to set it to nothing. You can add or edit Groups from Maint, LookUp Codes, Customer Groups. Tip: You can open the Groups maintenance window by holding down Shift and clicking 'Groups'. Hold Ctrl and click 'Groups' to open the window and add a new Group. |
Area |
Select an appropriate entry from the list provided or 'Not Assigned' to set it to nothing. You can add or edit Areas from Maint, LookUp Codes, Areas. Enter the appropriate Page and Grid references from your A to Z. |

If this is visible then the record has been marked for deletion and will not be available after the next removal of deleted records action. (The 'Remove Deleted Records' function can be found in the maintenance menu.) |
